The Hoylake, West Kirby and District branch of the U3A (The University of the Third Age) began in January 2008. We now have over 300 members. We are one of 1,000 U3A groups nationwide. What is the U3A? U3As are self help, self-managed lifelong learning co-operatives for older people no longer in full time work, providing opportunities for their members to share learning experiences in a wide range of interest groups and to pursue learning not for qualifications but for fun. We hold a Speaker meeting on the first Thursday of every month, (except August) at The Hope Church in Hoylake. Visitors and new members are warmly welcome at this meeting. Attending a Speaker meeting not only gives the opportunity to hear an interesting and often amusing Speaker, but is also the best time to find out about our numerous and diverse Interest Groups as well as all the Social and other activities on offer. Refreshments are provided. Our membership year starts in February and costs £20, but visitors and new members are welcome at any time of year. Please arrive at the Centre between 2.15 and 2.30 on our meeting day if you are interested in meeting new friends and discovering new interests, and perhaps unexpected talents. For more information please have a look at our new website. The address is https://u3asites.org.uk/Hoylake/home or you can phone 0151 632 2742 or 0151 632 1188. | ||
